Bringing Back the Old & Welcoming the New

Unify Portland in collaboration with Enough is Enough PDX will host our first back to school event! Unify Portland, Enough is Enough PDX, additional sponsors and the community will come together on Saturday, August 27th, 11 AM to 6 PM, in North Portland's Peninsula Park, to make a pledge to the children in our community.

The event theme, African proverb “Kasserian Ingera”,translation “And how are the children?”

We will be celebrating a new school year and to give our children a smooth start. Free RYZ

brand shoes for men, backpacks, haircuts, food, prizes will be provided to school age youth.

There will be music and live performances. Most importantly a pledge to our children. S. Rene Mitchell, published poet and author, will lead all attending in a special pledge to our

youth, commissioned by the City of Portland, Mayor's Office of Youth Violence Prevention.

Unify Portland is a community outreach program addressing, educating, and fostering

solution based thinking to eliminate the disparities in education and social justice.

Enough is Enough PDX is a community based organization designed to partner with

community resources to assist those in the midst of and in recovery from grief and trauma

due to violence.
